New In - James C Brett Knitting Patterns
A great selection of new (to my store) knitting patterns from James C Brett including a selection of kids knits in chunky, DK and Aran yarn, adult Aran designs and striped, super chunky throws.
Aran Knits
This selection of Aran knits can be knitted in any Aran yarn, it is best to use James C Brett to have a more accurate idea of quantity required, but I've never had a problem mixing and matching brands of patterns and yarn. Browse Aran yarn
Waistcoats are a popular choice and this one is perfect as an outer layer or alternative to a cardigan or sweater in cooler weather. The cable pattern isn't too intricate but the end result is beautiful. Buy the pattern
This is a very traditional Aran and while the image shows the woman in the sweater and the man in the slipover, they are unisex designs. I like the intricate cable panel at the front. This panel is the same on both the slipover and the sweater. Buy the pattern
Kids Arans are the best to knit, they are smaller so they are finished quicker! This unisex jumper and cardigan features lovely cable twists in two different types and sizes, so it wouldn't be too difficult if you are newish to Aran or you have experience of cabling. Five child sizes from 22 to 30 inches. All the sizes can be knitted with a 400g ball of yarn, except the 30in cardigan, you will need a little more yarn for it. Buy the pattern
I love the slipover and expect this will be a popular pattern. However, I do prefer bolder, more traditional cable panels on my Aran knits. The shape of this one is great but I feel it has missed an opportunity to shine. But everyone has different tastes and its good to offer different styles. Often things that I amn't wild about in a picture end up being my favourite creations! The pattern offers five sizes from 22 to 30 inches. Buy the pattern
Fun Chunky Knits for Kids
DK Knits for Kids
I have a pattern for a cardigan and sweater with lace detail that appears to have been published at the same time as this cardigan and it is really popular, so I thought I would try adding this cardigan option. I love the texture and the marbled effect yarn works perfectly. There is also a longer version which works well as a jacket. Buy the pattern
This is either a lovely simple, easy to knit sweater or it's your next project. I love the flower design but two colour knitting isn't my strong point. So, I would knit the plain sweater and convince myself that one day I would try the flower one! The pattern covers ages 3-12 years. Buy the pattern
Another pattern with a simple, easy knit and a more involved design. I love the contrasting colours in the tractor sweater, but you could knit the plain sweater with contrasting bands. The pattern has five sizes for ages 3-12 years. Buy the pattern
Super Chunky Throws
Super chunky, super warm, super fun, and super quick to knit. These 'super' knitting patterns offer a range of sizes and designs - choose from different widths of stripes or add pompoms. Choose from the rainbow pattern with two designs and four sizes or the pompom pattern with two designs (with and without pompoms) and three sizes.
